Sodom (Ger) - Persecution Mania (1987)
With this release coming a month after the Expurse Of Sodomy EP it is clear to assume it will sound somewhat similar. And you would be correct. Although I think this is't as good as what is found on that EP, it still has that same early darkness the band are known for from their early releases which would later be lost on future recordings. You can see that the lyrical themes are starting to lean more and more towards their war themes that the band would later be known for, even though they always had this kind of style (Burst Command Til War from the first EP). But you still have some of the blasphemous stuff from their early days here too. The last truly perfect effort by this band whos next album would be hospital grade sterility at its peak.
