Something about the guitar tone, something about the drumming on this album, something about the vocals, it all just works for me, I fucking love it.  If you've ever wondered what an all female Too Fast For Love era Motley Crue sounds like, this is it.  And yes, it's another EP.  I don't know what it is with chics in leather and red backgrounds, it is very reminiscent of the first Rock Goddess album.

This is the last Pantera album I will touch, listen to, own and even want to know exists.  I don't care what you say or how many times you tell me that Power Metal is still a good album.  I refuse to give a fuck about it solely because of that cunt of a vocalist on there who I won't even fucking mention. Not on my fucking blog, not even out of anger, and there is plenty of that in regards to that sack of shit.

The music you say?  Well fuck, it's fucking good as fuck.  If I had to describe something similar I would say possibly Screaming For Vengeance if anything, very early 80's Judas Priest sounding.  And that's exactly what you fucking want.  The production is similar too, the bass doesn't kick you in the ballbag quite as hard as the previous album, but I believe it works a lot better that way for these songs as I think the songs on this album are a lot better than Projects In The Jungle.  Come On Eyes is probably my favourite song this band ever did.

Hard to believe this is the same god-awful band that released all those albums to which I will not name in the 90's.  Now THIS is a fucking album!  That first album they did, yea it's good, but they really outdid themselves here.  The bass sounds fucking huge, right from the word go on All Over Tonite which is possibly the best song on the album.  That doesn't mean it lets up at all from there, this album is amazing, start to finish, even if Blue Lite Turnin' Red is a somewhat boring guitar solo track.

This would be the last album Nasty Savage did for a long time, but as far as I am concerned, it is their last and that 2004 album doesn't count.  The lineup is still the same as the early days save the bassist, so it's all pretty much still present.  Tracks like Welcome Wagon, Powerslam and Penetration Point are reminiscent of their early stuff.  There is no doubt this is Nasty Savage, even if they decided to go the plain clothes look instead of leather and metal in 1989.

I know I said I wasn't so impressed with this EP when I first heard it, but after years of ignoring it, it seems to have grown on me a little.  I mean, it definitely has nothing on the first album, but it is still well worth hearing, especially since it's only and EP and so short.  If it was an album maybe I'd lose interest a lot quicker.

My introduction to Nasty Savage was by chance picking up a record some really strange, surreal artwork and thinking, yea, this will do.  That album happened to be the 1988 Abstract Reality EP and I wasn't particularly impressed by it as much as I felt like I wanted to be.  It wasn't until a lot later I decided to give this one a try.  The artwork was just a logo, but I felt the logo was good enough to warrant a listen.  After getting my hands on a copy, just taking a look at the band photos on the back I knew this was going to be a lot better, something I would really enjoy.  After listening to this I quickly listened to it again straight away.  It just goes to show that usually when you have a band that looks like that you are in for something that sounds just like that too.  Usually, but sometimes I am quite disappointed.

Crazy good but often overlooked Thrash from New York.  Fairly short EP coming in at around 17 minutes in total, the longest track goes for 3 minutes, so that gives you a good indication of how fast this is.  No slow songs anywhere to be found.  At times it reminds me a bit of Hobbs' Angel Of Death, especially the vocals.  If anything, you need this just for the artwork too.  And remember, NO SLOW SONGS!

This was the first Macabre album I heard, and I am not sure what exactly it was I expected but I really wasn't expecting it to be like this.  From the get go, all of a sudden it's just this whirling frenzy of guitars, drums and bass.  First thing I noticed was how insane the drummer was, followed by actually being able to hear the bass and the playing together with the drums was crazy.  I don't think I'd ever heard something like that before, but it was insane.  Not to mention the vocals just to top it off.  It's a bit unfortunate that the album only goes for 24 minutes, I guess being almost as many songs as their are minutes on the album is why they added the two extra tracks, Funeral Home and Disease to the later CD pressing.  It seems to be just the right amount though, any more and I think it would just end up being a chore.

Also, I just have to add that the portraits of the band members on the back of the LP are fucking amazing.

Now this is what I call fast as fuck.  The speed and frantic pace of this is only matched maybe by Sadus, and for 1987 it's pretty early on for something like this.  All three of them are masters of their instruments, which can be heard on the Mass Murder instrumental/solo track.  I've seen them live a few times and I just don't know how Corporate Death can sing and play guitar the way he does all at the same time.

The pressing I have ripped here is the 1989 UK pressing by Vinyl Solution.  It adds two tracks, Disease and Natural Disaster which I am under the impression were recorded during the Gloom sessions, because they sure sound like it.  And to add to that, they were added as two bonus tracks to the 1998 Gloom CD release, so there you go.
