Cirith Ungol (USA) - Frost And Fire (1981)

Cirith Ungol (USA) - Frost And Fire (1981)

A month between uploads, but better late than never.  Something a little different here today.  One of my favourite bands from the USA that isn't Manilla Road.  An amazing album, it is a little different than their second album, this one was described as more "radio accessible".  It is not as doomy sounding as King Of The Dead but that does not mean it isn't one hell of an album, it is inrecidble.  Get it and listen for yourself.  I don't even have to say anything about the artwork either.

Tracklisitng:

1. Frost And Fire
2. I'm Alive
3. A Little Fire
4. What Does It Take
5. Edge Of A Knife
6. Better Off Dead
7. Maybe Thats Why

Sepultura (Bra) - Morbid Visions (1986)

Sepultura (Bra) - Morbid Visions (1986)

What we have here is one of the greatest albums by one of the greatest bands to ever come from Brazil.  This is the original Brazilian pressing on Cogumelo Produções with the intro.  It has more of a Black Metal feeling to it than the first EP with its Death Metal sound.  I prefer the EP over this album but honestly I love both of them so I can't really say that.

There are actually 3 different pressings of the original LP pressed in Brazil.  The only difference is in the label, which I have provided photos of the 2/3 I own.

Tracklisting:

1. Intro
2. Morbid Visions
3. Mayhem
4. Troops Of Doom
5. War
6. Crucifixion
7. Show Me The Wrath
8. Funeral Rites
9. Empire Of The Damned

Adramelech (Fin) - Spring Of Recovery 7" (1992)

I have finally gotten around to changing all the links to a new uploading service.  Fuck that was annoying, not like I have any time to do this shit in the first place.  So everything should be back up and now I will be posting some more stuff up for you since all that shit is out of the way.

Adramelech (Fin) - Spring Of Recovery 7" (1992)

Nice little bit of Finnish Death Metal here.  Slow and doomy yet still crushing, like most Finnish Death Metal I guess.  The acoustic intro and outro is pretty haunting.  I found this one by accident and bought it just for the cover.  I do that with a lot of records and end up being disappointed, but not this time.  Highly recommended.

Various (Bra) - S.P. Metal II (1985)

Various (Bra) - S.P. Metal II (1985)

This next compilation is a bit faster than the first.  Here we see a bit more Speed and Thrash bands, Korzus for example.  Same layout for the cover artwork with the featured bands logos and the bands all sing in Portuguese.  Pretty much the same as the first, except with different bands.  This is one of my favourites from Brasil, and you better damn well listen to it.

Tracklisting:

1. Santuário - Espártaco, Gladiador Rei
2. Korzus - Príncipe na Escuridão
3. Abutre - Rock, Rock, Rock
4. Performances - Viajante Perdido
5. Abutre - Quando o Fogo Começa a Arder
6. Performances - Guerreiro da Paz
7. Santuário - Santuário
8. Korzus - Guerreiros do Metal

Various (Bra) - S.P. Metal (1984)

Various (Bra) - S.P. Metal (1984)

What a compilation!  This is the first of two (that I am aware of) compilations of bands from São Paulo, Brasil.  And next to Warfare Noise, these two compilations are some of the best things to come from the country.  On this first compilation which was released in 1984, most of the bands have a more Traditional Metal sound to them compared to what Brasil is more known for later on in the decade.  And all the bands sing in Portuguese, which just makes it all the more awesome.  The artwork here is simple, but great.  It is what I believe to be an outline of the state of SP surrounded by the band logos, really nice.  On the back of the LP, Virus looks as though they want to be KISS, but unlike KISS they are actually really good.  Not that any band on here are bad, they are all very very good, but I think Centúrias stand out the most here.  They sound almost like Dianno era Iron Maiden.  They have the riffs and the bass is very Steve Harris sounding.  S.P. Metal II will be posted tomorrow.

I am also trying a new storage service as Narod went to shit.  So don't worry if you can't download any of the old posts, I will be updating them with the new service.  Very annoying.

Tracklisting:

1. Avenger - Missão Metálica
2. Centúrias - Duas Rodas
3. Virus - Matthew Hopkins
4. Salário Mínimo - Cabeça Metal
5. Centúrias - Portas Negras
6. Salário Mínimo - Delírio Estelar
7. Avenger - Cidadão do Mundo
8. Virus - Batalha no Setor Antares
