At first glance, if you knew nothing about this band and you see the band name and the album cover you'd immediately think it would be some toxic waste, nuclear thrashing mosh mayhem bullshit.  You'd be wrong.  Very wrong.  This is Thrash in a very extreme form, rivaling the top aggressive European bands.  Comparing to European bands like Kreator since it sounds a lot more like them than any other Brazillian band.  The frantic vocals, the speed of the guitar, it all reminds me of Morbid Saint, although not as overly extreme or close to Death Metal as that is.  Quite a welcome surprise coming from a band with an album cover like that.

If you've never even heard of this compilation then get fucked, no time for you.  If you have at least heard of it and never actually heard it, then here it is.  The first recordings of all four bands pressed onto record, this is one of the most ungodly pieces of plastic and cardboard ever put together.  It must also be noted that this recording was made before DD Crazy joined Sarcófago.  In his place was Armando, who would go on to replace the drummer in Holocausto and record their first album.  Armando would later join Mutilator on their second album, Into The Strange, so he has played for three out of the four bands appearing on this compilation.  Good effort.

Chakal are in fine form here, starting off with a track that you wont find anywhere else and ending their appearance with what I believe to be a superior version of Mr. Jesus Christ compared to what is found on their debut album, Abominable Anno Domini

Mutilator, as always, tear your head off from the very start.  Both tracks Believers Of Hell and Nuclear Holocaust would never appear anywhere else either.  Vocals here are handled by Silvio SDN who I think was the best that Mutilator ever had.  Just listen to him scream Nuclear Holocaust.

Sarcófago can do no wrong, especially not here.  The intro track Recrucify is one of the best intros I have ever heard, christ screaming as he is nailed to the cross and some demonic voices and winds.  Excellent stuff.  The Black Vomit is such a good track and it is a shame it never made it onto INRI but it made an appearance on The Laws Of Scourge years later, but is nowhere near as insane as it is here.  Satanas on the other hand made it onto INRI and the only real difference between the two tracks (besides the obvious production) is that Wagner uses a high pitched scream at the end of the track, similar to what Destruction do.

Holocausto is exactly the same as what you'll get on their album.  Fast, heavy, war themed lyrics sung in Portuguese.  Theres really no way you can go wrong with this band at all.

This compilation was released by a label called Trasher, which I know nothing about except they released one other 7" by Mandrix which I don't have as of yet (THAT COVER ART!  MUST HAVE!).  All of these bands are what you'd expect from 89-90s Brazilian Thrash and is what is to be expected in the next few years.  What I mean by that is, they are quite average, but nonetheless, here it is for you to hear.

After Vulcano released the ungodly Bloody Vengance, guitarist Flávio left the band and decided to start his own crossover band.  Usually I'm not much into the crossover genre, but this one is an exception since it incoporates the Brazilian sound into it.  Raw production, dark, grainy guitars and those demonic vocals with drenched in endless reverb.  That, and it was released by Cogumelo (COG 013), so any early records this label released are good, you just know it is.

This is a real strange one.  This is your typical evil Brazillian 80's Thrash, except it was released in 1994.  Just goes to show that some styles continued on in obscurity very late in the game.  I had been after this for a very, VERY long time and was beginning to think it didn't even exist.  I was under the impression that since it was an LP pressed in 1994 there must not be many of these around, as is the case with many mid 90's releases.  The further you get into the 90's the less LPs were pressed and more CD's made due to the new format taking completely over at this time.  Most mid 90's records sell for insane amounts of money, even for very well known names.  Anyway, I actually ended up finding a copy and I had to have it, no matter what.  In all my time searching I had never seen one, so I wasn't going to let it get away.  The guy who sold it to me said that at the time it was pressed there was an error at the pressing plant and something went wrong and the audio recording sounded shit.  So the band stopped the pressing and I was told only about 30 actually made it out.  I am not sure if this is entirely true or not, just what I was told.  Whether that number is really is correct or not, there was still a low number produced and this thing is as rare as it gets.

The music itself though is very good.  Preaching Illusion intro going into Insane Scream is a bloodchilling experience and I rate this album just for that.  Afterwards it keeps the same pace and is more or less the same all the way to the end.  But I still recommend it highly, just for the first tracks and if you like that then there is no reason you won't enjoy the rest of it.  Truly a rarity to find something of this quality released in 1994.

You don't usually find something so good this far into the 90's, especially in 1998.  But these guys have been around since 1986 and this is their second album, containing a few songs from their legendary demos.  You'd probably never expect a band of this magnitude to come from Peru, but these guys are top tier and play as hard and fast and are as evil as any of the top bands from anywhere else in the world.  This is plainly obvious when you listen to tracks like Uma, Head Of The Witch, the title track Devil Speaks In Tongues, Sucubus and even a cover of Sacrifice's Turn In Your Grave.  This is definitely an album not to be left in obscurity.

The last band featured on Warfare Noise for me to post, this album even has one of the tracks from that compilation, Mr. Jesus Christ.  The vocal performance on this album is what really stands out the most here, provided by the man himself, Vladimir Korg.  It really sounds as though he is suffocating and gasping for air, as though he is actually dying.  Korg also painted the cover artwork for the Sepultura - Bestial Devastation EP.

Fuuuuck, if ever I had to describe what pure hate and evil sounded like, it would be this EP.  For something that didn't come from Brazil, which happens to be some of the angriest and most hate filled evil I have ever heard, this is a true contender.  Forget Kreator, to me they are the Slayer of Germany and as good as they are I just can't compare them with these guys.  When it comes to German bands, for me its all about Protector, Sodom, Destruction and of course Poison.  Nothing else sounds like this, its fast, the guitar sounds like it can cut like a razorblade and the vocals are the echo of the cavern of hell itself.  There is something about EPs, I can't quite explain it.  Some of my favourite releases are EPs.  Maybe it has something to do with a lot being debut recordings and bands having worked for so long and refining their songs and getting them just right then going to record and not having the money for a full length.  Then afterwards they have to go and make an album and a lot of the time songs are rushed and its not always as good.  I don't know, just the way I feel it happens sometimes.
