Angel Witch (UK) - Sweet Danger 7" (1980)

Angel Witch (UK) - Sweet Danger 7" (1980)

I wrote up a post for this single before but it seems to have dissapeared so I guess I'll have to write it out again.

What better way to start out a run of singles with some early NWOBHM by none other than Angel Witch.  I don't know about anyone else, but there is something about early NWOBHM from around 78-80 that just has a haunting feeling about it.  This is very apparent in B-side Flight Nineteen which has to be one of my favourite Angel Witch tracks of all time.  The version of Sweet Danger on this single is a different recording than what is found on their self titled album so its well worth checking this release out.

Hellhammer (Che) - Apocalyptic Raids (1984)

Hellhammer (Che) - Apocalyptic Raids (1984)

This EP should need no introduction.  Hellhammer, who would later go on to become Celtic Frost, give us a big chunk of primitive proto-death metal here.  This certainly had a bleak sound to it like nothing else at the time did.  Pure Venom worship.

I don't have too much time at the moment to rip and upload everything I would like to, which explains the huge gaps in between posts.  So to make up for it I am going to be uploading a bunch of 7"/12" singles and EPs so I can at least get something up here.

2. Massacra
3. Triumph Of Death

Taist Of Iron (USA) - Resurrection (1984)

Taist Of Iron (USA) - Resurrection (1984)

Back when I uploaded Acid's self titled album I said I couldn't think of any Female Fronted bands I loved more than Acid.  Well to me, this one actually tops Acid, but only very slightly, followed closely by Malisha's Serve Your Savage Beast.  I seriously can't get enough of this album and I am not sure how many times I've listened to it back to back.  It is a very strange sounding album though, I must say.  One thing I love is that the guitar tone as well as playing style is quite clearly Van Halen inspired.  The track Metal Taco is pretty much Eruption, only slightly different.  The whole album has a very dark theme to it, and I can't really choose a favourite song, but I really enjoy the track Ouija.  It is actually a strange song to be honest, but I love it and the darkness present in the album is really apparent here.

Since this LP in its original pressing is super rare I have my very own rip for everyone to hear the differences between the original and the recent re-release.  Just so we know, I like both versions.  In some places on the re-release the guitar sounds awesome.  In the intro track, Resurrection on the original LP there are a lot of things that seem to have been taken out in the re-release.  Theres a few guitar layers and from memory a vocal track in the background.  So for those who haven't heard it, here it is and I highly suggest you hear this.    For those that have heard the re-release, I also highly recommend this.  So no matter what, you should hear this.

Sarcofago (Bra) - INRI (1987)

Sarcofago (Bra) - INRI (1987)

A little something to start off the month of June, and what an album this is!  This is it.  This is what Brazil is all about.  This album here is one of the greatest of all time.  And here it is for you in its original pressing on Cogumelo COG007.  I wont go into detail about it because you should already know about this album and what it is all about, and if you haven't... seriously, what are you doing?  Interesting thing about this pressing of mine is that on the tracklisting on the sleeve and on the LP itself Track 7 is Ready To Fuck and Deathrash Track 8, just as it is written below.  But when playing the LP they are switched, so Ready To Fuck plays after Deathtrash.  So I am not sure what is going on with that as I haven't actually heard about that on the original, but in the rip I've arranged the tracks so it is in order with the tracklisting.

Tracklisitng:

1. Satanic Lust
2. Desecration Of Virgin

Carnivore (USA) - Carnivore (1985)

Carnivore (USA) - Carnivore (1985)

Back to a time when Roadrunner released good albums still comes this monstrous album.  This is another album that made me want to start uploading all these original vinyl rips.  I don't know the exact year as it has been re-released on CD many times now, but there was a remaster at some stage.  This is a remaster that, personally I think does wondrous things for the album.  The original was thin and a little lacking and had an extremely strange reverb effect on the vocals.  The remaster took away the vocal effects and made everything a lot louder and I can tell you that it fits in nicely with the overall theme of this album.  What I am getting at here is that not often do I hear of people talking about the original, and sometimes have never even heard it and aren't aware of how different it sounds.  So here it is, in all its post-apocalyptic glory.

1. Predator

Anatomy (Aus) - Dark Religion 7" (1991)

Anatomy (Aus) - Dark Religion 7" (1991)

Another small upload today.  This time it is the ultra rare 7" press of Anatomy's Dark Religion demo.  Originally it was released as a demo tape in 1991 but was later rereleased on 7" limited to 200 copies.  Very dark Death/Black Metal here, not for the faint of heart.  I have everything this band has ever released, save the original tape version of this release.  So watch out for their second demo and debut EP being uploaded soon.

Nothing Sacred (Aus) - Deathwish (1985)

Australian Thrash rarity.  Much, MUCH better than their later album.  I bought this from a record fair near where I live and the guy selling it had two copies and I regret not buying both now.  Who knows if someone else bought it.  Now if only I could find Aggressa's Nuclear Death EP...
